Weekly Update

Good Afternoon Parents,

What a whirlwind week it has been! On Monday, we will begin our transition to 100% DL for the time being. Our class will follow the same schedule we began the year with. We will meet each morning at 8 AM for our morning meeting and will have two 45 minute whole group live sessions at 8:30 and 9:30. We will walk through what DL looks like in our classroom together on Monday during our Morning Meeting.

    I know this transition may be hard for some students, and I am always here as a resource! Please reach out if there is anything I can do to support your child or help your family during this time! 

Focus Areas for the Coming Week:

• Writing:  The students will begin their own research on their Famous African American, as part of our  Biography unit. 
• Math:  We will begin our unit on Multiplication and Division. **It would be beneficial for the students to have their multiplication facts memorized. Please be working on these at home to help them with this unit.**
• Virginia Studies:  We will continue with  Chapter 2 of Virginia Studies- Virginia's First Peoples. We will cover that the American Indians lived all over the state, The English Settlers and  the three native languages spoken. The study guide for this unit went home two weeks ago. The test date is TBD now that we transitioned to DL.
