Weekly Update

 Hi Parents!

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend was relaxing and productive! Please see below for important information and reminders for this upcoming week! Including Spirit Week!

SOL Letters for Students- Parent Homework

As you know our SOLs are quickly approaching. I would like the students to begin their day with some encouragement from those who mean the most to them- You! (and their siblings, grandparents, or other loved ones!) I would like to surprise them with a letter from you on their desk the morning of each test. I sent home a sealed manila envelope today with a detailed letter explaining what I need you to do and two sheets of paper for you to write on, decorate, glue pictures or quotes on. I have included three since we have three SOLS (one for each test). I would like to have all the letters back to me SEALED in the envelope by Wednesday, May 4th, so I can make sure that every child will have something special to read that morning. Please remember this is a surprise!!!

3R’s Spirit Week

We will be celebrating the 3R’s next week with a special spirit week. The dress code for the spirit days are as follows.

Comfort and Collaboration Monday—Wear your comfy clothes so that you can relax and collaborate with your classmates as you learn this day

Twinning Tuesday—find a classmate, teacher, friend or group of friends to dress alike with you. Remember you can always find good connections with others here at school!

Vacay Wednesday—Dress like you are ready to go on a vacation or adventure-remember readiness includes preparation and thoughtfulness! (No swimsuits)

School Celebrity Thursday—Dress like one of your favorite school staff members to show respect and appreciation for staff and scholars alike

Feel Happy Friday-wear your favorite color and have fun feeling happy that you can follow the 3R’s.

Update before Spring Break

 Hi Parents!

Happy Friday!  It's hard to believe we have made it to Spring Break!  Truth be told, I'm kinda limping to the finish line.  It will be nice to have some time with my children. I am looking forward to heading south to meet up with my cousin and her children. We are going to be spending some time at Carolina Pines, an RV resort in South Carolina. My kids are hoping the weather is warm enough to enjoy the waterpark! Maybe if I am lucky, I can bring some of that warm weather back with me!  Before we have a week off from school, here's your weekly update.

Spring Break Bucket List Reading Incentive

The kids have made a "Bucket List" Spring Break reading incentive.  If they complete and return this signed bucket list on April 20th or 21st,  I will let them make a trip to the treasure box or receive a Pawsome award (their choice) The catch is, they must turn it complete and signed by you on the due date. No late submissions will be accepted!  ðŸ™‚    (Responsibility lesson here)
