Hi Parents!
Happy snow day! What a beautiful sight to wake up to this morning! With all of the COVID craziness going on, I wanted to be proactive and let you know what my plan is in the event that your child gets sick or needs to be quarantined. This information may not pertain to your child (hopefully ever) but I wanted to lay out my plan to the class in one large swoop.
As you know, if your child is quarantined, we will be using Schoology to post their assignments. Your child should be very familiar with how to navigate this program because we use it in class. If your child meets with Mrs. Kaz or Mrs. Anderson, please make sure that they also check their pages and folders for additional assignments from those classes. The assignments listed on my page are solely just the assignments they need to complete for me. They can access Mrs. Kaz’s page through the link on mine. This link will take them directly to Mrs. Kaz’s Schoology page.
Since the elementary schools are not teaching concurrently, your child will be unable to join us through Google Meet. However, they should check my Schoology page each morning. Once they are in my Schoology page, they should click on the ‘Quarantine’ folder. Inside there, I am posting a calendar that looks like the example below that will list their daily assignments. Your child should complete any assignments listed for the day/ days they are out.
Additionally, as mentioned, if they work with Mrs. Kaz or Mrs. Anderson, they should click on their links for any assignments from those teachers.
When the calendar states writing, I ask that they re-read their work and edit it. We have spoken about the importance of this. Please have them make sure they have complete sentences, punctuation, and that their sentences make sense. This is a very important skill!
I will be available through email and Schoology each day when school is in session. As the students know, I am not always near my email, but will do my best to check my email more frequently when there are students out quarantining so I can answer their
questions quickly.
I know this information may not pertain to you at this time, but I wanted to assure you that I had a plan and that I would do my best to engage and teach your child even in these uncertain times.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in school this week and promise to do my best to keep us all healthy and happy!
Enjoy this beautiful snow day with your sweet children! They truly are a gift!
