Weekly Update

 Hi Parents,

What a week it’s been! I am so pleased to say that we have wrapped up our unit on Multiplication and Division! I was so pleased with how the students did on the test! We are building on these skills as we have moved into factors and multiples.

Valentine’s Day

We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 14th. We will take the afternoon to pass out our valentines, watch a Valentine’s show and do some fun Valentine’s activities. If your student chooses to participate in the Valentine exchange, please make sure that they bring in a valentine for everyone. We will  make Valentine bags to put them in, but if your child wants to bring in a box or something from home to use, that would be fine. I will be sending a class list home next week for those of you who want to get a head start.

Focus Areas for the Coming Week:

  • Reading:  We will begin  our biography unit. After we learn about biographies, the students will begin researching a famous american.

  • Math:  We will continue our unit on Factors, Multiples and Patterns. The test is scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd. The study guide went home earlier this week.

  • VA Studies:  We will begin Chapter 5 - Revolutionary War

As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a great week!

Weekly Update

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year! Today was our VA Studies test on chapter 4. As I am sure you heard it went AMAZING! Everyone in the class scored a 3 or above! To say I am proud of the class is putting it mildly! It was a lot of information to retain over the long break, but the kids did it! I could not be more proud of them! Hence, that everyone earned a much deserved trip to the treasure box! Thank you for your hard work in learning and studying the material with them! You have all earned gold stars! ⭐️

Winter Party

A huge thank you to Mrs. Higgins, Mrs. Casimir and Mrs. Aniavilli for planning and running our winter party before break! It was amazing and the kids had a wonderful time! It was absolutely perfect! Thank you to everyone who donated some money to cover the cost of the food and supplies. It turned out to be such a great party for the class! I am so grateful to have such a generous and involved

MAP Testing

We will be taking our Reading and Math MAP assessments next week. We will split them into 2 parts to help the students stay focused and engaged. I have scheduled the math for Monday and Wednesday afternoon and the reading for Thursday and Friday. Please make sure your child comes to school each day with their ChromeBook fully charged. There are no loaner computers anymore so it is imperative that they charge their Chromebooks each night.

Substitute on Tuesday

I will have a substitute on Tuesday, January 10th as I will have to be out to take 2 of my children in for their annual check ups. I do not know who my sub is yet, but know the class will be in great hands. As always I will be available through email and remind.

Treasure Box Goodies Needed:

Today everyone was able to make at least one trip to the treasure box! This was a great way to celebrate all their hard work upon returning from break. As exciting as this was, it meant we are now running low on goodies. If you would like to donate to our class treasure box, I am linking a few of the things I have recently purchased, that were a hit with the kids! I know anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated by the class! You can have it sent right to me at school if that makes it easier. Thank you!
