Hi Parents!
Can you believe next week is our last full week of school?! How did that happen so fast? You will have 5th graders before you know it! Until then, we are soaking up and cherishing all our remaining time together!
Tie Dye T-shirts
The shirt delivery was delayed. They should be in on Monday. Thank you to Mrs. Buckley who has kindly volunteered to come in and help us dye those on Monday morning.
Family Movie Night
As you have heard, next Friday June 10th is Hutchison Farm’s Family Movie Night. It is a free event. My family and I will be there to enjoy the movie! I hope you can join as well. It would be great to see you there! To join, you must sign up an RSVP using THIS LINK.
Theme Day Treats
Next week we will be participating in a few more fun themed days. We have a couple treats we would like to have to help us celebrate. On June 14th, we would like to make root beer floats with the students to celebrate Decades Day! Each 4th grade class has a decade to dress as and research. Our class will be the 1950’s. I plan to dress the part and enjoy a root beer float. I would also like to give the students a small bag of popcorn to enjoy as we watch the movie Charlotte’s Web (once we finish the novel). Please fill out THIS FORM to allow your child to enjoy these treats. If they don’t want a root beer float, they are welcome to just have a cup of root beer or plain ice cream. I just need permission.
June Theme Days:
Thank you so much for your generosity with donating to our end of the year activity wishlist! The first few theme days have been a success! The kids are really enjoying the activities!
Below is a quick look ahead as to what the themes will be:
Monday will be board game day! Please have your child bring in a board game to play. No electronics! If you do not have a board game to send in, your child can pair up and share with someone who does. It should be a fun day!
End of the Year Party:
We will be having our End of the Year Party on Monday, June 13th. Parents are welcome to attend. A huge thank you to Mr. Lopez and Mrs. Buckley for offering to help with this!
Focus Areas for the Week:
Reading: We will use the book Charlotte's Web, work on comprehension and end with watching both the animated and live version to compare and contrast the story.
Math: We will review many of our skills learned throughout the year that were difficult.
Science: We will continue talking about the Earth, Sun and Moon
Enjoy the weekend! It should be beautiful! Once again, I will be hanging out on the ball field. Tonight I kicked my baseball weekend off by going to see one of my students play in his playoff game. What a game that was! Tomorrow my youngest has his playoff game and Darius has a double header on Sunday. One day I will have time to catch up on the rest of my life. Until then I will soak up every minute I can while they are young!
