Hi Parents!
What a busy week we have had! We are finally getting into the fun stuff and are enjoying the slower pace of things!
Tie Dye T-shirts
Thank you for the quick response for your child’s t-shirt size. We plan to tie dye them next Friday (weather permitting). We also have a parent volunteer who had graciously offered to come help with that task.
Tiger Rising Movie
We will watch the movie Tiger Rising next week. I have told the students they are welcome to bring in an extra snack on Friday to eat with that movie. The class is really looking forward to seeing this movie since we enjoyed the book!
June Theme Days:
As we near the end of the year, the fourth grade team wanted to have some fun to celebrate all our hard work! Each day for the month of June we will have a theme day. Below is a calendar of the days we have planned, however we are going to surprise the kids each day with what the next day will be. Please do not tell them. We are just giving you the heads up so you can be prepared and planned.
Each day our activities and lessons will revolve around the theme of that day. There is very little you will need to do for this. However, if you want to have your child dress up to fit the day, that is encouraged but not necessary. We do have a 4th grade Amazon Wish list if you wish to donate anything from it to help make our theme days more exciting, but again it’s not required. If you donate off our wishlist, please have it shipped to the school, attention Kristen Rivera.
Below is a quick look ahead as to what the themes will be:
Thank you again for helping us make this a fun and exciting time for these students! They have all worked so hard and deserve to be celebrated! We appreciate you helping us keep this a secret!
End of the Year Party:
We will be having our End of the Year Party on Monday, June 13th. Parents are welcome to attend. I will need a couple of parents to plan and organize it.
Please reach out to me if you are interested in helping with this event.
Focus Areas for the Week:
Reading: We will use the book Charlotte's Web, work on comprehension and end with watching both the animated and live version to compare and contrast the story.
Math: We will begin our unit on perimeter and area.
Science: We will wrap up Oceans and begin our Planets Unit.
I hope you all have a wonderful and fun long weekend planned. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can spend some time grilling outdoors.
