Weekly Update

Good Morning Parents!

Wow! Can you believe we have made it to the final full week of school?! How is it possible that in one week you will have a 5th grader in your house and be a year away from middle school?! What a year!

Please read below for some important information about this week and next.

Asynchronous Monday Packets:

The packet your child has right now to complete today, Monday June 7th is their last packet for the year. They are to complete this packet and return it to me tomorrow when they get to school. Next Monday they will only work on Dreambox, Raz Kids and read in Epic. There are no more packets this year!

End of Year Celebration:

As you know, we must keep our end of the year celebration low key.  Tuesday, June 15th will be our end of the year celebration. I plan on having a fun game/ movie day! The students are invited to bring in a game or something to play with in the classroom. They did ask to bring in electronic games, and those are fine as long as they realize that they are responsible for their own belongings.  They are welcome to bring in something to play with the students around them without getting out of their seat so we can maintain our social distancing (3ft).

Later in the afternoon we will be watching a movie and eating the snacks I will be providing. Your child will only be able to eat the snacks provided if you have given them permission. If you did not fill out the form or are not allowing your child the snacks I am providing, please make sure to send them in something to enjoy during the movie.

Please use this link HERE to fill out the permission slip. Please Have all slips in by Thursday, June 10th.

Focus Areas for the Coming Week:

  • Writing:  We will write our end of year writing sample and work on a 4th grade memory book.
  • Math:   We are reviewing the various skills we worked on throughout the year.
  • Science: We are learning Oceanography. The students will talk about the currents, salinity, ocean levels and the different levels of the ocean floor. We will wrap up our unit watching the movie Finding Nemo on Friday!
